ABOUT ALEXANDRA
Hello, I'm Alexandra Bercea

MY BACKGROUND
I’m running for School Trustee because I believe the decisions we make in education should always come back to the people at the heart of our schools — our students, families, and educators.
As a mother, mental health professional, program leader, and community advocate, I have spent years working alongside individuals and families through some of the most complex moments of their lives. That experience has taught me the importance of listening before leading, asking difficult questions, looking beyond the numbers, and never losing sight of the human being behind every decision.
As a parent, I also understand the trust we place in our schools every morning when we send our children through those doors. We want to know they are safe, that they belong, that someone will notice when they are struggling, and that they are being given every opportunity to learn and succeed.
I am running to bring thoughtful, accountable, and compassionate leadership to the Board — with a strong focus on student safety, mental health and well-being, academic achievement, meaningful communication with families, and supporting the educators who work with our children every day.
For me, this campaign is about listening, learning, asking better questions, and helping build a school district where every student has the opportunity to thrive.
Leadership with a Human Perspective.
MY VISION FOR SCHOOLS
My vision for SD73 is a school district where every student feels safe, seen, supported, and challenged to reach their potential.
I want our schools to be places where strong academics and strong human connection exist together — where literacy, numeracy, attendance, mental health, belonging, and student safety are all treated as essential parts of success.
I believe families should feel informed and heard, educators should feel trusted and supported in their professional roles, and students should know there are adults in their schools who will notice when they are struggling and respond before a problem becomes a crisis.
I also want us to look carefully at the barriers that affect learning — whether that is mental health, food insecurity, transportation, attendance, learning needs, family circumstances, or access to support — and make decisions based on evidence, accountability, and what will genuinely improve outcomes for students.
Our district is diverse, and every school community has different strengths and challenges. Good leadership means listening to those differences while maintaining a clear standard: every child, regardless of their school, neighbourhood, background, or circumstances, deserves a real opportunity to succeed.
My vision is simple: safe schools, supported educators, informed families, stronger student outcomes, and a school district our community can trust.
Leadership with a Human Perspective.
CAMPAIGN MISSION
Empowering Students, Engaging Families
My mission is to bring thoughtful, accountable, and human-centred leadership to SD73.
I want to listen closely to students, families, educators, and community members, ask the difficult questions, and make decisions grounded in evidence, transparency, and the real experiences of the people our schools serve.
I will advocate for safer schools, stronger mental health and student supports, improved academic outcomes, meaningful communication with families, and the resources educators need to do their best work.
I also believe leadership means looking beyond policy on paper and asking what is actually happening in our classrooms, hallways, homes, and communities.
My mission is to help build a school district where concerns are heard, problems are addressed early, educators are trusted, families are respected, and every student has a genuine opportunity to learn, belong, and succeed.
Leadership with a Human Perspective.
